SAFETY AT SEA AND POLLUTION PREVENTION ARE OF PRIME IMPORTANCE TO SHIP OWNERS AND OPERATORS. OUR REAL-LIFE TRAINING PREPARES TRAINEES TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT THE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON BOARD AND ASHORE.

The ISM Code requires establishment of safeguards to ensure mitigation of risks in safety and pollution in shipboard operations. The Code places responsibility for this squarely on the companies charged with the ship’s management. Our ISM Auditor training course is a two-day, 16 hour course that provides the skills to manage first, second and third party International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (ISM Code) Audits.

Designated Person (DP)

WITH SUCH HEAVY RESPONSIBILITY RESTING ON THE SHOULDERS OF THE DP, IT IS CRITICAL THAT THEY UNDERSTAND THE ROLE AND DUTIES OF THIS POSITION.

The Designated Person (DP), as required by the ISM Code, plays a key role in the Safety Management System (SMS). The DP ensures the implementation and maintenance of the SMS and is responsible for its effectiveness. The ISM Code requires the Designated Person to receive training to undertake their duties as per guidance in MSC-MEPC.7/ Circ.6.

Maritime Cyber Security

WE PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF ISO/IEC 27001:2013 AND HOW TO RELATE THEM TO YOUR INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

In order to effectively manage the risks stemming from ever-improving technology and growing concerns of global threats, organizations need an effective information security management system or ISMS. The ISMS is the collection of objectives, policy, organizational structure, processes and data used to safeguard information.

MSC-FAL.1/Circ.3 refers to ISO 27001:2013 as one of the industry best practices that may be applied to maritime organizations to address cyber threats. In this course, students gain the tools necessary to conduct and lead maritime cyber security audits to determine conformity to requirements.

“The DP course was rich in information and stewarded by an extremely knowledgeable tutor. Despite being conducted online, the feel was like that of a classroom and the audio and video were of excellent quality. The tutor was very patient and attentive to all questions and concerns, and made sure everyone was comfortable before moving forward. I would highly recommend this method of learning to anyone, anywhere. Pivot and QMII did an outstanding job in bringing their product to all.”
